Greenock put on a five star show to blow away their Ayrshire counterparts in this replay of the OVD Junior Scottish Cup.
Darvel started the brighter of the two and squandered two glorious chances ealry on as Foreman's miscue allowed Rankin to charge in on recent signing Starch's goal but he shot hide and wide, then McKie fires over from 15 yards. Greenock took the lead just after the half hour mark from a sucession of corners Alan Barnes was on hand to toe pock the ball home from Black's corner. Greenock then were awarded a penalty on 40 minutes as Black was upended by Summerville, John Paul Dow picked his spot past the keeper for 2-0.

A sloppy start to the second half by Greenock allowed Darvel to creep back into the match but find Starch in fine form in the Greenock goal. Greenock grab a third on the hour mark through Aldo McIntyre's bullet header from Black's corner kick. No.4 arrived four minutes later again from Black's corner as he spotted Martin Power unmarked at the edge of the penalty box his low cross is smashed home to give Greenock a comfortable lead. Changes are made as McMillan, Foreman & Power are replaced by Nixon, Jack & Docherty. Greenock add a third after the best play off the match as Barnes sends McIntyre clear down the left he looks up and picks out Andy Monaghan who is clear in the box to put Greenock in cruise control. Darvel grab what is no more than a consolation goal in 82 minutes after Dunlop finds time and space to stroke the ball past Starch. Greenock should have added a sixth in stoppage time as Black is sent clear but his effort strikes the post and out of play.
