                                                                                     Greenock Juniors 5 - 3 Dunoon Amateurs
                                                                                                                  Friendly

Greenock Juniors recorded another victory in this pre-season friendly, but were made to fight all the way by a battling Dunoon team. Dunoon raced into a 2 goal lead courtesy of a fine left foot strike from the corner of the box by Dunoon's left-back then a fine header from Dunoon's striker after a long free-kick caught the home side's defence napping. Greenock plugged away and got their just rewards on the half hour mark as John Paul Dow cooly chipped the kepper from 18 yards after pulling off a fine save to deny the Greenock striker, 5 minutes later McIntyre struck a left foot curler only to see it crash against the bar and somehow Black managed to hit the post with the rebound when it looked easier to score. Greenock managed to squander 2 more chance's, after Jack's corner kick was flicked on by Lappin the Greenock trialist centre-half failed to connect with the ball with the goal gapping and after rounding the keeper McIntyre's effort struck the post. The equaliser arrived 3 minutes before half-time after a deep cross in the box, the Dunoon defence was at sixes and sevens and Graham Black was on hand to atone from his earlier miss.

Half-time 2 - 2

A few changes were made at half-time as off went Dow and McIntyre for Barnes and Monaghan with the latter having a big effect on the score line with 2 goals. A Stuart Jack free-kick on the hour mark had the 'keeper scrambling' but his effort sailed over the bar. Greenock by now were well on top but just couldn't break down the stubborn Dunoon defence. Super sub Andy Monaghan finally put his side in front with 15 minutes remaining with a header after a great cross by Docherty. Two minuters later it was all square again as Barnes gave away a needlessly free-kick on the edge of the box and up stepped the Dunoon attacker to fire a low strike into the net. Ten minutes remained when Greenock took the lead again after a fine deep cross to the back post by the deputising trialist Thomas Docherty rose highest to bullet a header home. It was put out of Dunoon's reach on the 85th minute as Andy Monaghan finished off Docherty's pass to seal another victory.
